From Geneva: Full-Day Trip to Chamonix and Mont-Blanc
462 ReviewsHop onto a bus from Geneva to discover the quaint, well-known Alpine skiing village of Chamonix.
Les Consorts opened in winter 2011 on the slopes of Le Tour in the Balme ski area at the far end of the Chamonix valley. The buildings are certainly not new, they once served as alpage farmhouses. Those who have been coming to Chamonix for years will know the wooden chalets used to be open for food and snacks, but then spent several years closed.
Winter 2011 and the farmhouses have been given a new lease of life. There's a superb terrace looking down towards Chamonix and across the whole valley to les Houches and beyond.
In terms of cooking, it's all about cheese and meat with fondues, cured meat dishes and potato fritters too. Perfect for refuelling mid-way through a hard day's skiing or boarding.
