Chamonix lift operator Compagnie du Mont Blanc sent emails out yesterday announcing the 2011/2012 ski lift passes for the season and the year, along with a new marketing ploy to get us to buy our Chamonix passes even earlier than usual.
New for the 2011/2012 is the 'Super Promo' period that runs from now until the 14th October 2011, offering between 40% and 60% off the full prices. Once this initial offer window has closed, the normal pre-sale period will run from the 22nd October to 30th November 2011. After this date, the full prices come into effect.
Also new for 2011/2012 is the chance to be able to pay for your Chamonix seasona an annual lift prices in three installments, for no extra cost. As far as we can see the Super Promo period passes have to be bought online. Full details of the links are included below.
Chamonix winter 2011/2012 season and annual passes PUBLIC PRICES:
MBU Adult Season = 1430€
Le Pass Adult Season = 935€
MBU Adult Annual = 1760€ (!)

Le Pass Couples Annual = 980€
You MUST order these passes online BEFORE the 14th October 2011 to get these prices and you must have a valid Gen de Pays card (ie you live in the valley and pay your income tax here) or a Resident Secondaire card (ie you own a property in the valley and pay taxe fonciere). Remember Chamonix Le Pass covers Brevent, Flegere, Le Tour/Blame, Grands Montets (but not the very top lift), La Vormaine, Chosalets, Planards and Savoy areas. The Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass includes all these plus very top of Grands Montets, Les Houches, Aiguille du Midi, Courmayeur and Verbier 4 Vallees for up to eight days, the Montenvers train and Tramway Mont Blanc.
