Description
Approximately a 50-minute drive from Riga, the tour begins with a 5 km walk through forest trails and the iconic 3.7 km wooden boardwalk winding across the bog. A shorter route is available but excludes the viewing platform, which offers the best vantage point for watching the sunrise.
The viewing platform provides an opportunity to enjoy a warm tea and a light homemade breakfast while observing the bog’s landscape as it transitions with the sunrise. This location is well known for peaceful daytime walks and its natural environment.
You will receive an email the day before the tour with the exact departure time, usually scheduled 1.5 to 2 hours before sunrise.
