Chamonix
La Chaumiere sits between the blue and red pistes next to the Pra Neyron chair lift. The large terrace offer fab views across the mountains and down to Courmayeur and inside is warm and cosy with large farmhouse tables and a bar area.
If it's sunny, nothing beats being ouside, but inside is lovely too, with a wood burning stove and a very novel way to stock your coat, beanie and gloves - stowed in paniers that you can winch up and down from above your heads!
The restaurant also prides itself on making its own bread. There is a rotisserie inside the restaurant so roasted meats are always on the menu, as are pizzas and other classic Italian dishes.
A great place for a lunch stop or just a coffee.
