Meet your guide at your accommodation in Musanze or at the designated meeting point. Receive a warm welcome from the artisan cooperative and learn about the history of basket weaving in Rwanda, the significance of the Agaseke, and the natural materials used in the craft. Watch skilled artisans demonstrate each stage of the weaving process, from preparing the fibers to creating traditional patterns. Work alongside the artisans as you weave your own small basket. They will provide guidance throughout the session, making the activity suitable for participants with no previous weaving experience. Enjoy tea or coffee while chatting with the artisans and learning how basket weaving contributes to their livelihoods and community development. After the workshop, return to your hotel or continue exploring Musanze independently.
