Description
The tour begins with pickup from accommodations in Tirana, Durres, Golem, or Lezha. You travel 2 hours by comfortable van to a rest stop where you can enjoy coffee, snacks, and use toilets. This break offers time to relax or nap before continuing.
Next, you drive approximately 1.5 hours through mountainous terrain while your guide shares insights about Albania and the region. Note that some road sections are under construction and may be bumpy.
After around four hours of driving, you arrive at Komani Lake dam. Following your guide’s directions, you walk through a 7-minute tunnel to reach the boat. The one-hour boat ride across Komani Lake offers views of mountains, greenery, and clear waters—ideal for photography.
Upon arrival at Shala River, you have free time. The guide points out the best spots for swimming, relaxing, or enjoying lunch or a drink by the river. You may also join a short guided hike to a viewpoint on the Shala River balcony.
After the visit, return by boat to meet the van for the drive back to Tirana, including a stop for a break and toilets.
