Description
Begin your journey with a short scenic drive from Kathmandu to Fulbari Gate, the entrance to Nagarjun Forest Reserve. From there, follow a well-defined trail through dense woodlands featuring pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. The gradual ascent makes this hike suitable for travelers with moderate fitness.
As you progress, enjoy bird sounds and watch for wildlife such as monkeys. This less-crowded trail offers a peaceful nature experience away from busier routes around Kathmandu. After approximately 3 to 3.5 hours of hiking, arrive at Jamacho Peak (2,128m).
At the peak, visit a small monastery decorated with prayer flags and a view tower that provides panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and distant Himalayan ranges, including Langtang and Ganesh Himal.
