Boarding: The start of a break from the everyday
As soon as you set foot on the wooden deck of this traditional boat – a toue sablière or a Loire barge – the pace changes. The smell of fresh water and the gentle creaking of the hull welcome you. The captain casts off the moorings, and with them, the stress of everyday life remains at the wharf.
A royal river all to yourself: For two hours, you glide on the water. The Loire, the last wild river in Europe, reveals itself to you in an intimate way.
The silence: Only the lapping of the water against the bow and the distant cry of a gray heron disturb the calm.
The landscape: The white tufa façades of the Loire villages pass by, illuminated with a cream hue. You pass by shifting sand islands, inaccessible except by water.
The High Point: Sunset
