Description
Begin your adventure in a 4x4 jeep from Funchal to the beautiful Boca dos Namorados viewpoint, overlooking the dramatic Nuns Valley. Hear fascinating stories about the pirates who once threatened Madeira and discover how the unique geology of the island shaped these enormous mountains and deep ravines.
Back in the jeep, continue along an incredible off-road trail that leads you toward Pico Grande, the geographic center of Madeira. Surrounded by silence, forest, and endless views, this area offers a superb panorama over the mountains, the sea, and on many days, a sea of clouds floating below.
After descending the mountain, stop at a typical Madeiran bar for a quick break. Enjoy a coffee, taste a fresh Poncha, or simply relax and feel the island’s authentic atmosphere. Next, dive into a final off-road descent through the vineyards of Henriques & Henriques, one of Madeira’s oldest and most traditional wine producers.
Continue to Cabo Girão, the famous skywalk standing 589 meters above the sea. With its glass platform and dramatic cliffs, this is one of the most impressive viewpoints in Europe, a perfect highlight before the grand finale.
