Lac de Passy
Chamonix
Lake Passy is the biggest lake in the region, and in summer a very popular hang-out for locals and tourists. The surroundings are stunning, with Mont Blanc in the background. Bring your own picnic or bbq and enjoy the sun and water.
Fishing is permitted at Lake Passy, but the popularity of the lake can make it a crowded spot in the middle of summer. And a bit further on are some smaller lakes perfect for fishing that are quieter. Make sure you have the right permits.
Directions: drive towards Geneva and take the exit for Le Fayet. Turn right at the traffic lights, and left after the railway bridge. Follow the signs to Sallanches from the first round about and follow the signs to Lac de Passy.
