Le Satsuki
Chamonix
Satsuki is the only Japanese restaurant in Chamonix and is just outside the town centre on rue Joseph Vallot. The menu is small with sushi, noodles, tempura, miso soup, sashimi and other classic Japanese dishes. There are also Japanese beers and sake to accompany your meal. The service at Satsuki is very friendly, professional and efficient, as you expect from a Japanese restaurant. Sushi is also available to takeaway.
The interior is minimalist, clean, light and airy and the food is served in a true Japanese style. There is a private tatami room available downstairs for parties, with low seating and a karaoke set. Mention you want to use the karaoke when you’re booking the room!
The restaurant gets busy with busloads of Japanese tourists in the summer and English tourists in the winter. Lunchtime also gets busy, with their ‘menu du jour’ for less than 10 euros. Besides this deal, prices are high in comparison to the portion sizes. But the food is always good and ordering a couple of side dishes next to your main will make sure you don’t leave hungry.
Something that has to be mentioned about Satsuki is their restroom. The toilets are amazing and make you feel like royalty; unique for a Chamonix restaurant. Make sure to go to the toilets here and add a whole new level to your Japanese dining experience, high-tech Japan style!
Pour les amoureux de la cuisine japonaise, la Satzuki propose une cuisine délicieuse et fine entre Sushis, Tempura ou encore Udon. Le service est chaleureux. Le menu du midi est une référence a moins de 10 euros.
