I hesitate to write this….. After reading the amazing reviews on Google about this place, I tried it and tried it specifically for the steak tartar since the photos and description posted by others looked exceptional. My experience was not that. Off the top, they mentioned afterwards that they did recently change chefs. 🥲 The steak tartar I got was bland, no capers, hardly any sauce, no onions (from what I saw and tasted). It literally just tasted like cold raw meat. Had three bites and then asked the waiter about if it’s the same dish as the photos online. She apologized, said they have a new chef, and came back with the same dish except the meat was half its size? Not to mention, the salad is just greens with two lines of dressing? Anyway. It was disappointing. It’s one of those meals where you can tell it was made half heartedly. Service was as nice as could be but I can’t believe I paid 30 euros for such an unappetizing meal. 🤷🏻♀️
Best food during my entire Mont Blanc adventure. The cheese fondue with the porcini mushrooms was a special treat from the first to the last bite and a must try. Another must try is their salad with salmon and melon. Super delicious and refreshing. Everything is home made and high quality ingredients. Bring some time as food takes a while to arrive. But it’s worth every wait, bite and penny.
Enticed by an exceptional rating on TripAdvisor, we booked this traditional restaurant in the centre of Chamonix for dinner. In short the service was sincere and superb but it was not matched by the quality of food. All the meat tasted like frozen. The trout was good, but the steak came out overcooked and bland. It is a real pity as the restaurant has a prime location (right next to the city centre carpark) and a charming terrace.
