Casa Valerio

Casa Valerio is a long established restaurant in Chamonix serving gastronomic Italian food. This place is very popular with locals and tourists who all seem to come back time after time. The menu is authentic with plenty of antipasti, around 50 pizzas to choose from as well as pastas, traditional Italian meat and fish dishes and desserts.

All pizzas are cooked in a wood burning over, which is positioned in the dining area, adding a nice touch to the décor. Try their award winning pizza Margherita Napoletana Extra with soft buffalo mozzarella. It is absolutely delicious with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil.

The restaurant is a little bit of the main drag, and you might need to ask a local for directions, but it is well worth the search. The restaurant is charming, with a view of the river Arve. There are lots of old pictures on the wall, and you can even ask owners Fanny and Valerio to show you their photo album what they will proudly do.

Service at Casa Valerio is quick and efficient, and the food outstanding and well portioned. The staff speak multiple languages, and stay friendly even during rush hour and they are running from table to table. This is a great family restaurant, but we don’t recommend it for a romantic meal as you won’t find a lot of privacy here. If you like a lively atmosphere and don’t mind the crowdedness, Casa Valerio is the best Italian restaurant in town for you!

Casa Valerio is open for lunch and dinner, and even in low season in packed with hungry customers. Reservations are recommended, but there are many tables so the turn over is quick. You can wait at the bar and study their excellent wine list, which has lots of wines from different regions and countries in all price classes.
