Paragliding - The Cachet Gravel Pits (Chamonix) Landing Site

ACCESS
The site is 15mins walk from Taconnaz train station. By car from Chamonix follow the Route des Gaillands in the direction of les Houches. After Taconnaz, and just before the big roundabout that heads to the Route Blanche, turn right into a narrow lane.

SKILL LEVEL
Autonomous to XC Pilots.

ORIENTATION AND CONDITIONS
South West, North East. This site is best at the end of the afternoon.
Altitude: 950m. GPS: N 45° 53' 60" E 006° 49' 24"

CAUTIONS
It is essential to visit this site before you launch to ensure that work is not being carried out, which could obstruct the landing. Be aware of the river that is close by. There is often turbulence on the approach. The landing strip for the ULM is forbidden. Remember that aircraft and microlights have priority.
