Paragliding - Planpraz (Chamonix) Launch Site

THIS SITE IS CLOSED OVER SUMMER 2008
DUE TO REBUILDING OF THE GONDOLA.

ACCESS
This launch site is found in the Brévent resort, just 5 minutes walk from the Tourist Office in Chamonix centre. Take the gondola to Planpraz then 10 min walk uphill.

SKILL LEVEL
Suitable for all levels, depending on conditions – unsuitable for beginners in thermal conditions.

ORIENTATION AND CONDITIONS
Launching either SW or NE, this site is most suitable in the mornings, before the valley wind causes unfavourable conditions.
Altitude: 2000m. Vertical drop: 1000m. GPS: N 45° 56' 08" E 006° 51' 18"

CAUTIONS
Proximity of cables for the Brevent cable car. The take off can be turbulent in certain conditions.

LANDING SITE
Bois du Bouchet. The landing site is not visible from the launch.
