Description

Begin the Hacienda Tour by waking up for an exciting trip and meeting your guide at your accommodation in Mexico City. On the way to the Ex-Hacienda Chautla in Puebla, observe a picturesque change of landscapes with mountains, forests, plains, and volcanoes passing by. Once there, roam along multiple peaceful forest trails in its beautiful English-style gardens. Afterward, in the center of an artificial lake, the 19th-century Gillow Castle invites you to enter its embrace. Feel how life was 100 years ago fully! Our adventure continues as we venture to a local farm to unveil the extraction process of essential oils, coming from aromatic plants such as lavender, rosemary, and pine. This unique community project, fostering abundant harvests year after year is a harmonious collaboration of small landowners. Our next stop is Santa Rita Tlahuapan. Every summer, thousands of luminescent fireflies illuminate the night sky in a magical dance here. These flying bugs are endemic and live all year round in the local forests. But it is during the months of June, July, and August when their numbers soar and fill the air with their presence. Finally, venture with a local guide to the fireflies’ sanctuary to see the dance of these fantastic creatures. The night ends with you relaxing in our vehicle and enjoying the way back to Mexico City.
