Description

Enjoy an unforgettable experience exploring the contrasts of Panama City: modernity, history, culture, and one of the world's greatest engineering wonders. Once the pick-ups are done, we'll start our tour of the modern city, admiring panoramic views of its skyscrapers, coastal avenues, and the vibrant urban atmosphere that characterizes the Panamanian capital. Our first big experience will be at the Miraflores Visitor Center, where you'll learn how the iconic Panama Canal works. You'll enjoy a 45-minute documentary that tells the story of its construction and evolution, explore interactive exhibits, and climb up to the panoramic terrace to get a closer look at the impressive lock system. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to see a ship pass through in real time. Just a heads-up: we can't guarantee you'll see a boat pass through, as the schedules are managed exclusively by the Panama Canal Authority. We'll continue to a local craft market, where you can check out handmade products, traditional art, and unique souvenirs that reflect the creativity of Panamanian artisans. Then, we'll visit the historic Canal Administration Building, built in 1914 in the Italian Renaissance style. Its 'E' design, murals, marble floors, and iconic pink marble staircase make it a true architectural treasure that honors the Canal's history. Next, we'll head to the Amador Causeway, a scenic road built with stones extracted during the construction of the Canal. From this point, you'll have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the entrance to the Canal, and the city's modern skyline. You'll see the iconic Biomuseo, designed by architect Frank Gehry, and we'll make a brief stop for photos at the famous Panama Sign, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. You'll also visit a duty-free shop to pick up some tax-free items. Finally, we'll arrive at the charming Casco Antiguo, the historic neighborhood founded after the destruction of Panama Viejo in 1671. During our guided walk, you'll discover its most iconic squares and churches, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Church of San José with its famous Golden Altar, Plaza de Francia, and Plaza Bolívar. Its beautiful cobbled streets, colonial architecture, and cultural atmosphere make it one of the most beloved places in Panama. Our tour ends here, in one of the city's most historic and charming settings.
