Description
The city of Oaxaca was founded three times over 1,500 years ago. Our tour begins in the heart of the last foundation built by the Spanish in 1532. Edgar, your local guide, will tell you all about it in a simple and entertaining way. We will walk to the most important sites of this UNESCO World Heritage City. From the central square or Zócalo, we will go to the markets where you will try some local products such as quesillo, tejate, insects, chocolate mole, among other local delicacies. We will visit the Cathedral of Oaxaca and walk along its main street where you can see old houses and other colonial buildings. Edgar will explain the different types of architecture and designs on the way to the main museum of Oaxaca. When you arrive at the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Oaxaca, Edgar will tell you the history of the church and the museum that houses the Treasure of Tomb 7. You will see jewelry made by the Mixtecs in room number three of the historic site. At the end of the tour, Edgar will give you suggestions for restaurants, bars, terraces, and other old neighborhoods with murals that you can visit after lunch.Includes
