Begin your tour with a visit to the Templo Mayor, the most important ceremonial and spiritual center for the Mexicas. Enter the largest Cathedral in Latin America, the Metropolitan Cathedral, built on the pre-Hispanic ruins. See what the great Tenochtitlan looked like in its heyday and enter one of the metro stations. Contemplate the sign that Huitzilopochtli, the solar god of war, gave to the Mexicas to let them know where they should establish their empire, which is now the symbol of the flag. Discover where the remains of the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes lie and see a mural of his encounter with Montezuma, the Mexica emperor.
