On the Chapinero Historical Tour you will get lost in the steep streets of Chapinero and immerse yourself in its varied architecture. Marked by the stories that have transcended time and have forged the memory of the neighborhood. More than a historical tour, this is a multi-sensory experience. We will be enveloped in the smells of the exquisite local cuisine and get to know the authentic cultural and literary projects that Chapinero and its people have to offer. We will take a journey through time from the 15th century to the present day. We will condense in a fun way all the important events in the history of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Latin America. We will travel to the colonial times and the first inhabitants of Chapinero until its transformation into a neighborhood for the aristocracy of Bogota in the 19th century. We will talk about how it later became home to the working middle class in the twentieth century and its relationship with music, social movements and scenario for culture and gastronomy today. We will also visit some of the most important architectural projects in Bogota and learn about some of the predominant styles in the neighborhood such as neo-gothic, modernist, art-deco and Tudor.
