Description

Join us for a half-day adventure where you'll dive into heritage, savor local treats, and explore unspoiled nature! Your adventure kicks off in Chanaz, aka the Little Venice of the Alps, with a guided tour of its flowery alleys and picturesque canals. You'll discover the history and authenticity of this charming village on the banks of the Rhône. Heads up: some cobbled streets and waterfront access might need you to be in good shape. After this walk, it's time for some local flavors: a demo at the traditional walnut oil mill that's still in operation, followed by a tasting of artisanal oil with subtle aromas. You'll then explore the floating hive, guided by Marie Maréchal, a passionate beekeeper, who'll introduce you to the fascinating world of bees. Wrap things up with a tasting of local honeys (chestnut, fir, flowers) and let your taste buds go on a journey. After this moment full of discoveries, you'll hop on a boat sailing on the Savières Canal and Lake Bourget. During this 1.5-hour cruise, let the silence of the water carry you away, discover the history of the boats of yesteryear, and observe the local wildlife: beavers, herons, rainbow perches, and more. A perfect half-day to mix culture, treats, and nature along the water!
