Description

Embark on a 4-hour tour in a luxurious minivan from your accommodation in Kalabaka or Kastraki. Drive with a small group and take in the fantastic scenery of Meteora. Marvel at the extraordinary geological formations that tower above the largest plain valley of Greece. See the monasteries hanging over the cliffs and listen to the full history from your knowledgable English and Greek-speaking guide. Visit 3 monasteries, entering their interiors so as to admire the impressive architecture and meet some of the monks and nuns. Your drive will wait for you while you explore the sites, and then take you to special spots where you can snap some beautiful photos of the scenery you may recognize from the Game of Thrones. At the end of the tour, drive back to your accommodation or to the center of Kalabaka, if you’d like to spend some more time exploring.

  • Children less than 3 years old go free if they can share a seat with their parent or guardian
  • Due to the strict dress code at the monastery, men must wear trousers and a t-shirt or a shirt with sleeves and women must wear a long skirt. Otherwise, there is a chance you will not be allowed to enter the monastery
  • The tour leader will provide you with all necessary information about the sites but he will not escort you inside
  • We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven surfaces and walking upstairs
  • Animals are not allowed to enter the monasteries
