Embark on a cultural day trip to explore the richness of the Mayan civilization, with the option of transportation from Cancun or the Riviera Maya to Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, noted for its extraordinary preservation as an ancient city. The experience includes a delicious Mexican buffet lunch (depending on the option selected), a tequila tasting, and visits to iconic sites such as Valladolid and a cenote. The day begins with a visit to Chichen Itza. Accompanied by an expert tour guide, you will explore the most impressive sites of the ancient Mayan city. You will see the majestic Pyramid of Kukulcán, which impresses with its size and the perfection of its astronomical alignment. You will also enter the Caracol, an ancient Mayan observatory, and other points of interest within the archaeological zone, which offer a deep insight into the engineering and culture of this people. Chichén Itzá was a prosperous center of power between the Late Classic period (600 AD) and the Early Postclassic period (1200 AD), and became one of the most important pilgrimage destinations for the Maya. This visit will allow you to understand how the city played a key role in the politics, religion, and social life of the Mayan civilization, and why its legacy remains so relevant today. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a stop at a cenote, a natural wonder and sacred place for the Maya, where you can cool off and connect with nature. A delicious buffet lunch featuring the best of Mexican cuisine (depending on the option selected) will be served, accompanied by a tequila tasting, where you can learn more about this iconic traditional drink of the region. Finally, you will tour Valladolid, a picturesque colonial city known for its historic Convent of San Bernardino de Siena, built in the 16th century, and the Baroque-style Cathedral of San Gervasio. It is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the history of the region. Throughout this excursion, you will witness the impressive architecture, complex spiritual beliefs, and fascinating stories of a people who left a deep mark on world history. Important Information

  • The tax for Chichén Itzá is $42 USD per adult and children 13 years and older, and must be paid on the day of the tour, unless you have purchased the All-Inclusive option. The tour in Chichén Itzá will be conducted in the language of your choice, while transportation will be bilingual. Mexicans, children, students, and teachers (residents of Mexico) can obtain a discount on the tax by presenting their ID on the day of the tour. Without official ID, the discount will not be applicable.
